Bio

Stephan Kunze is an independent writer and published author, covering music, arts and culture. His non-fiction book Zen Style was published by Arkana/Penguin Random House and got covered by national media and influential podcasts. He’s currently a commissioning editor at Everything Jazz, an online record store operated by Universal Music Group, and an editorial consultant for Deutsche Grammophon.

Kunze held leading positions in the music and media industry for two decades. At streaming service Spotify, he managed a global team of editors and programmers, and curated playlists with millions of listeners. As a consultant and project manager for Red Bull, he’s worked on corporate publishing and music projects for the global brand. He was an editor-in-chief at now-defunct Juice magazine, and he’s written for national and international magazines, newspapers, online magazines and other media outlets.

In addition to his credentials as a writer and editor, he’s a former artist manager and independent label owner, an experienced speaker and panelist, and host of community radio shows.

Stephan Kunze lives in a tiny village in the rural Northeast of Germany, but spends much of his time in Berlin and London.
